Captain's Table Fish House Restaurant: A Seafood Gem in Panama City

We visited the restaurant around 4:30 PM and were seated immediately. The staff was friendly, and the place was very clean and welcoming. Our server, Heather, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and quick to meet our needs. We started with the tuna dip appetizer, which was very good and full of flavor. For our meals, I had the horseradish crusted grouper with new potatoes and cheese grits. The grouper was phenomenal—perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. The cheese grits were creamy and flavorful, though the new potatoes could’ve used a bit more seasoning. My husband ordered the blackened grouper throats, and they were cooked to perfection—tender and flavorful. He did mention that the sweet tea wasn’t quite sweet enough for his liking, but that was a minor complaint. One of our girls ordered the popcorn shrimp basket, and the portion size was huge. She really enjoyed it and had left ibers to take home. One of them got the grilled mahi mahi and couldn’t stop talking about how good the coleslaw was—fresh, creamy, and sweet. Once we tried the hushpuppies, we immediately placed an order for more. They were perfectly sweet with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. Overall, a great dining experience with quality seafood, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

I unfortunately have not been here since they rebuilt after the Hurricane. It's just as good or better than it was. The building looks incredible inside and out. They have outdoor seating now and of course plenty of indoor seating. The food was delicious and our table of four all loved what each ordered. Oysters and She Crab Soup was delicious! The Crab was succulent and sweet. The shrimp were plump and juicy. My favorite was the grouper with horseradish sauce. Just incredible. Light white and perfect tasting grouper with a mild creamy horseradish sauce. Aleta was our waitress and she was attentive and did her job well. Kept our drinks filled and checked on us enough .

Had two appetizers. Crab cakes were good and the oyster Rockefeller. Could definitely order again

We went for dinner and from the time we walked in to the time we left, everything was fantastic! So much so that we are thinking we will go back tomorrow night! Crab claws were yummy! Crab cakes were some of the best I’ve had. Blackened red snapper was superb! And the bread pudding with ice cream—OH MY! Our waitress was so kind and helpful and made the experience even better! If you’ve not tried this place, you NEED TO!

Incredible fried oysters! And, we were lucky enough to get the last 3 orders of filet scamp (grilled and fried). Cajun pasta was just heavenly. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu -- Cheese grits, Crab fingers, and Hushpuppies were absolutely tasty, and the great service was just icing on the cake! We spent about $50 per person, but it was worth it.

What a great way to bring in a 61st Birthday Celebration, our service was excellent, the food was excellent, dont miss this family friendly location if you're in the area.

I have tried a few restaurants in the area and I have to recommend Captains Table for anyone looking for some great food and service. I had a horseradish snapper and it was delicious. Service was fantastic and on point, restaurant was the cleanest one I've seen so far and I'd say if you have not been here make a point to go, you won't regret it. Desserts were really good too.

I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and it was a truly wonderful experience deserving 5 stars. Arriving just after 5 pm on a Wednesday, I was immediately charmed by the quaint indoor seating area. Near the hostess station, a fish-related joke and a fun fact about flounders provided a delightful, welcoming touch. I opted for outdoor seating, which came with the thoughtful touch of complimentary water with lemon – a welcome gesture on a warm and sunny evening. My server, Katie, was exceptional. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor made the entire meal enjoyable. I started with the She Crab Soup, a creamy delight. While there were a few small pieces of crab shell, the overall taste was outstanding, and the accompanying hushpuppy was simply divine. For my main course, I chose the half and half platter, opting for shrimp and scallops. I was slightly disappointed that I couldn’t mix and match cooking styles (blackened shrimp and grilled scallops), as they had to be prepared the same way. However, the available options (fried, grilled, blackened, or broiled) were plentiful. The platter also came with two sides and more of those fantastic hushpuppies. I selected the cheese grits and the vegetable medley (broccoli and cauliflower with parmesan), the grits were especially delicious. The quality of the silverware doesn't really match the price point and quality of the food, but this is a miniscule gripe. Initially, I noted the small size of the scallops, and Katie explained they were bay scallops, naturally smaller. However, showing exceptional customer service, she later brought out an additional portion, acknowledging that the initial serving was indeed a bit light. This thoughtful gesture truly elevated the dining experience. To conclude the meal, Katie recommended the bread pudding, and I’m so glad she did. It was the absolute highlight of the evening. The bread pudding was perfectly textured, bursting with flavor, and complemented beautifully by a generous and perfectly round scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. It was a perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Overall, Captain's Table offers a fantastic atmosphere, excellent food, and outstanding service. Katie's attentiveness and the restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction made this a memorable dining experience. I would recommend Captain's Table to any of my friends looking for a delicious seafood meal in the Panama City area!
